Rufus is a program that helps you format and create bootable USB drives such as USB keys/sticks, memory sticks, etc.
This can be particularly useful in cases where:
you must create a USB installation media from a bootable ISO (Windows, Linux, UEFI, etc.)
you must be running on a system without an OS installed
you have to boot BIOS or some other firmware from DOS
you want to run a low-level utility
